Good index. One thing I'd add — when you're chasing a fault on the floor, the index is only useful if you can get to it fast. I printed the top 10 faults list and laminated it inside the electrical cabinet door on each press. QR code on the laminate links to this thread.
Also worth organizing by symptom rather than just fault code. When a press stops, the operator sees "won't home" or "alarm light flashing" — they don't know it's A.810 vs SV0447. A quick symptom-to-thread cross-reference would make this way more useful on the floor. Something like:
- Press won't home after E-stop → encoder recovery thread
- Intermittent position faults → deviation alarm thread
- Drive trips on heavy jobs → overload/stall thread
- Motor hot after 30 min → thermal fault thread
We built something like this in a shared Google Sheet for our maintenance guys. Three columns: what they see, probable cause, link to procedure. Took an afternoon to set up and it cut our average diagnostic time from 45 minutes to about 15.
